Entering the world of work is an exciting step - and this year we are particularly pleased to welcome a large number of new colleagues! In our selection process, we chose 45 talented individuals from 4,044 applications for 11 different apprenticeships and dual study programs. Welcome again, dear first-year students! Let's start creating future forward - together!
But what can our new trainees actually expect? How are they introduced to their new role and what opportunities do they have to develop professionally and personally? We asked them. Tina from the apprenticeship team gives us an exciting insight into our training concept and the many opportunities it offers.
"Moin, of course with pleasure! We attach great importance to accompanying and supporting our apprentices and dual students on their way into the professional world. Our training concept consists of various modules that cover both personal and professional aspects. We combine practical experience with theoretical knowledge and leave plenty of room for learning and experimentation. It's not just about teaching specialist knowledge and methodological skills, but also about strengthening personal development."
"Onboarding is the first step of our three-phase profile training and is important for a good start with us. This is where the basics are taught and an overview of OTTO, our values and our way of working is given. The new apprentices and dual students are integrated into the team and it is ensured that everyone feels comfortable right from the start. Onboarding is the basis for the entire apprenticeship."
"After onboarding, basic training begins , during which initial practical experience is gained and basic technical skills are built up. This is followed by profile deepening, in which the apprentices and dual students can focus on specific topics that match their training occupation or course of study. The special thing about this is that you can choose the assignments and teams yourself. This allows them to better identify their own strengths and interests and develop skills that are relevant for the future."
"Throughout the entire training period, trainees and dual students are supported in their development through individual guidance and coaching. Progress is reflected on in regular meetings with the training team and the next steps are planned. Individual training modules such as training courses, workshops and events are also offered to promote both professional and personal development. Cooperation and networking are also important to us. We attach great importance to an active exchange within the apprenticeship community, in the specialist departments and at the interfaces. We also take responsibility - for ourselves, for the team and for society. For example, through our commitment to corporate volunteering, which offers the opportunity to think outside the box and make a contribution to society."
"Learning is a central component of the apprenticeship. As everyone learns differently, support is offered to help them find their own way. Further training can take place at university, at vocational school or through internal learning opportunities. Through various learning platforms, training courses and online courses, we can provide optimal preparation for theoretical content and examinations. It is important that trainees and apprentices take their training into their own hands and play an active role. In this way, personal and professional components within the training concept dovetail perfectly."
"An Apprenticeship with us means being courageous and actively driving change. Ideas, suggestions and opinions are always welcome and that's exactly what we want to encourage! For us, it is important to get actively involved and to dare to make mistakes - this is part of the learning process and the only way to grow personally. It's not for nothing that we also call our apprentices future strikers. We look forward to talented people who want to help shape the future."
"For me, the special thing about the apprenticeship concept at OTTO is that my further development and my learning are in my own hands. The most diverse learning opportunities and offers are available and I can decide for myself where I want to access, deepen my knowledge and take on responsibility!"
