Facility Management
We coordinate, plan and direct - always with a focus on our campus.
'Greenfield' ideas are wonderful. But as a successful large company, we need a solid home in a highly professional environment for our motivated teams and our visions. And this is where our facility management comes into play. We operate 7 medium voltage stations (10KV rail) with a capacity of approximately 20,000 KVA. The installed cooling capacity is over 12 MW. Of this, 6 MW is generated by an ammonia refrigeration system and 80 kW is required for kitchen refrigeration. Heat is supplied to the campus via 12 district heating transfer stations with a total capacity of 13 MW. Impressed. With our specialists, we not only keep buildings and technology running smoothly, but also pave the way for the future of modern infrastructure and facilities. Everything you need for a home.
We offer highly interesting and decisive tasks - from A for systems engineering to Z for supply air control, we coordinate, plan and direct everything that is necessary to operate and manage our properties. Light, air, acoustics, ergonomics and special requirements for working conditions: In Facility Management, we create the right framework conditions for the approximately 4,000 workplaces in Hamburg and other Otto Group locations. In addition to building technology and space management, interesting construction projects are also realized here. We see ourselves as a committed service provider for our colleagues in the value-adding areas. In doing so, we become active in different areas:
In building planning with operational fire protection, we plan construction projects, calculate, prepare bills of quantities, negotiate and finally execute the project within the given budget and time frame.
In space management, we plan the use of space, design office environments and workplaces and take over the logistical handling of relocations.
Building technology and building inspection, here we act as "good spirits in disguise", taking care of all technical matters of a property.
We place a wide range of demands on our experts in the building technology/planning faculties (architecture and area planning, statics, heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, sprinkler, measurement/control/regulation). Specialist engineers in building services, electrical and sprinkler technology and, last but not least, structural engineers as trained architects are in demand as designers and consultants.
For maintenance, servicing and control, specialist knowledge and experience are the be-all and end-all. However, the so-called soft skills are also important, such as teamwork and communication skills, the ability to work under pressure in order to keep a clear head in tight situations and, very importantly, enjoyment and motivation in the work.
"With my work, I ensure the operation of the technical systems so that the many colleagues* at OTTO have a good indoor climate and our heart, the data center, is well air-conditioned. "
