"Let's go to the Elbe for lunch," our colleagues agree first thing in the morning when they work from the campus. However, this is not a date for a swim in the river, but for lunch together in our canteen of the same name on the OTTO campus.
The hybrid working methods of our teams make personal exchange on campus all the more valuable and enjoyable. Over a fresh pizza from the stone oven or a portion of hamshuka with hummus, it's much easier to chat and catch up. For many colleagues, the Elbe is therefore more than just a company restaurant. It is a place to meet, exchange ideas and network.
The quality of the dishes on offer is also anything but "canteen quality". The ingredients are fresh, seasonal and regional. The meals are prepared right in front of you, so your mouth starts watering while you're waiting in line. Some people claim that the food in the Elbe tastes even better than in some of Hamburg's restaurants - and that at canteen prices. The selection of dishes is also very diverse: whether vegetarian, vegan, meat, fish, soup, salad, pizza or pasta - there is guaranteed to be something for every taste. Our conclusion: the Elbe is definitely the tastiest of our benefits!
When we visit our canteen, we are guests of our colleagues. The Elbe is operated by Kochwerk, OTTO's own caterer. We therefore also offer apprenticeships in the catering sector. We currently have one apprenticeship position available as a cook for the 2023 training year.
