A look behind the scenes: Julia's everyday life as Divisional Assistant Technology
Julia's passion for IT topics was first awakened back in 2011. Today, she has been working as an executive assistant in the technology department at OTTO for more than three years. Her daily work routine is never predictable and requires a lot of flexibility and also great organizational talent. But how does she master her daily routine and how was her passion for technology actually awakened? She has now revealed that to us.
Julia - your topic in 3 sentences!
"Using the Profile Dynamics value system analysis, I conduct team coaching sessions. By working out and explaining the individual motivators in one-on-one meetings with each team member, a better understanding of the different personalities is created. In the subsequent team workshop, all skills are then brought together and discussed in an open exchange."
Why is your topic important for OTTO?
"We have a wide variety of personalities and competencies, which Profile Dynamics helps us to better understand. By revealing the individual motivators of our colleagues, we can develop a deeper understanding of each other. In our team workshops, we get to know each other better and understand how we can best use our skills and energy to accomplish our tasks. In this way, we work purposefully toward shared success."
Describe a typical working day as a divisional executive assistant at OTTO.
"The nice thing is that there are no typical days in the field of assistance. Of course, I have many recurring tasks, such as travel bookings and settlements or scheduling appointments. However, many (external) circumstances always require a quick and flexible rethink and adaptability to the situation. That's when my day can quickly look completely different than I thought it would in the morning. Through my job as a team coach, I am also often in workshops and prepare them."
What are your three superpowers that are very useful to you in your current job?
"My superpowers in my current job are organizational skills, helpfulness and empathy. These skills enable me to successfully complete my tasks."
What were your first points of contact with IT?
"I started working for a company builder in 2011. Digital business models were founded there several times a year. It was incredibly fascinating to see how, with the help of developers and designers, a website was created from a business plan that served as an interface to customers and generated sales."
