After an apprenticeship in banking and some time in the profession, I decided to go in a new direction. After all, I studied social economics in Hamburg and focused on human resources. Afterwards, I was able to gain my first recruiting experience in the start-up environment at ABOUT YOU before joining OTTO in April 2016 in recruitment, or more precisely, in active sourcing. In my free time, you can often find me on the tennis court or in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel.
Active sourcing is a variation of recruiting. The big difference is that my colleagues and I actively search for new talent for OTTO and don't wait for applications to come in. We are on the move in a wide variety of networks and do our best to recruit new, great colleagues for OTTO. Since active sourcing is still "relatively" young compared to conventional recruiting, my team and I are constantly pushing the conceptual side of the issue - a very exciting task!
Good preparation is absolutely essential. The main activities should always be present and it never hurts to know key facts about the company. Apart from that, I think it's great to ask questions that directly reveal your interest in the specific job. Basically, the interview is the perfect format to underline your motivation and interest in the job. Another very important point is authenticity. Present yourself as you are.
As described above, an authentic appearance and a well-founded motivation for the job convince me
