Julia is an HR manager in the recruiting team and is responsible for selecting new colleagues. In this interview, you can find out what she looks out for in particular during the interview.
I discovered my passion for HR topics during my business studies. After gaining some professional experience in general HR work, I quickly realized that my heart beats specifically for personnel selection. After graduating, I then joined OTTO in 2008 in recruitment. At the beginning of 2014, I became a mother of twins and have been back from parental leave since May 2015. Through a part-time work model, I have found the optimal solution to combine family and job.
The mixture of a traditional, value-oriented family business and a dynamic and innovative e-commerce player.
Do's: Examine yourself as a person. Ask yourself what experiences you have, what situations you have learned from, and what has shaped you. I take a close look at how the candidate fits in with the position, the team and the corporate culture - and also whether interests and strengths can be developed in our company. It is important to me that I experience the candidate authentically and honestly. After all, at the end of the interviews, the candidate* should also have a good feeling and a basis for deciding whether OTTO and the position fit the long-term goals.
Dont's: Not being prepared and not asking questions. This often gives the impression that you haven't dealt with OTTO sufficiently.
With authenticity, openness and honesty.
