Onboarding
For your best possible start with us.
It may take some time before you start with us. To provide you with all the information you need at a glance, we have set up our own onboarding website. There, after a successful application process, we will answer all your questions about your start, take you on a virtual tour of the campus and give you useful tips for a successful start. To make your anticipation of OTTO even greater, you can find the most important information for your first days with us at a glance here.
The first few days are all about arriving, setting up the digital infrastructure and getting to know your team and your manager. Your hardware, consisting of your laptop, an additional monitor, mouse, keyboard and headset, will either be sent to you by post before your first day of work or handed over to you in person on campus. It is best to discuss the exact procedure with your team.
The Starter Days are the introductory program for all new employees at OTTO and Otto Group Holding. Most of the sessions will take place on the OTTO campus. However, if you do not live in Hamburg, remote participation is also possible.
In the first week, you will not only receive helpful information about the company intranet, our campus and the OTTO culture, including the Leading Principles, but also a detailed insight into the most important projects at OTTO. Information about your employment relationship, such as our employee portal, how to apply for the Deutschlandticket and corporate benefits are not neglected.
In addition to a brief introduction to our corporate strategy, the second week will focus on the topic of customer orientation. You will learn first-hand from our speakers how campaign management works, how our customers become aware of OTTO and find the right products on otto.de via the various access channels. There will also be a Q&A session with one of our board members.
In short, we want to give you an overview of all relevant topics and at the same time enable you to arrive and get to know your new working environment in a relaxed manner and, above all, to do a lot of networking.
The Starter Days have a modular structure and are designed to give all new colleagues a successful start. The content and structure therefore vary depending on the entry level.
Permanent employees receive a comprehensive program that covers all aspects of the company, from corporate culture to the customer perspective. Trainees also have the opportunity to take part in a boot camp specially tailored to their training. Interns and working students benefit from individual onboarding, which provides a detailed insight into the company structure and goals as well as the customer perspective. For those who start in one of our Relation Centers, we offer a tailored onboarding program directly on site to ensure that they receive the best possible support right from the start.
Would you like to network with like-minded people on specific topics? Our communities provide personal networking opportunities for all interested colleagues who want to promote topics related to professional, social or societal responsibility. From social communities and business & tech communities to our sustainability network - we are as diverse as our colleagues are.
After the Starter Days, professional and personal onboarding will take place in your team. You will be assigned an experienced buddy to help you get off to a smooth start. You can also contact your manager at any time if you have any questions. They will act as your direct point of contact. With an induction plan drawn up by the team, we ensure that you grow into your new working environment in the best possible way.
We're ready - are you?
