Oliver is Head of Corporate Procurement and Campus Services. In this interview, he provides insights into the areas of responsibility and what qualifications applicants should bring with them.
This area encompasses a number of different areas:
In Corporate Procurement, we procure all the things that OTTO and all the German Otto Group companies need for their business operations. With a purchasing volume of approximately two billion euros in the Otto Group, the bundling of requirements and strategic purchasing play an important role. As part of this, Group Conditions Management ensures the best possible conditions for the entire Group.
Campus Services covers a wide range of services for employees:
In the Kochwerk, we cater for around 4,500 colleagues on campus every day in three restaurants and two bistros. In addition, service departments such as the mailroom, the receiving department, the vehicle fleet with workshop and car wash, the archive, the switchboard and the in-house print center as well as document and data entry ensure that business runs smoothly.
I'm responsible for strategic planning, i.e. setting targets and achieving them, for each of my very different areas, and in this way I ensure that the available resources are used optimally in the interests of the company. In this way, I also drive forward important projects and thus play my part in the future-oriented further development of Otto.
Due to my position as Head of Corporate Procurement and Campus Services, it is of course also very important that I discuss the monthly reporting and coordinate important tasks and events with my colleagues and show presence in all my areas.
All of my departments are service departments, so we always work in a very customer-, service- and team-oriented way to provide perfect service to our colleagues here on campus and thus generate a profit contribution for OTTO and the Otto Group. Thus, we work very innovatively, always develop and test new and interesting offers and always think very entrepreneurially in order to offer our services at the best price-performance ratio for all parties involved.
Given the large number of different departments, it's difficult to define overarching professional qualifications - but in general I would value the following skills: being customer and service-oriented, open and communicative, entrepreneurial, innovative, flexible, and also that colleagues think outside the box and see change as an opportunity.
