Anne is HR Manager in Recruitment and responsible for recruiting new colleagues for the Retail & Marketplace division. In this interview, she gives tips on how to prepare for a successful interview.
My passion for HR issues was awakened by my work experience as a student trainee in the HR department. I joined OTTO after studying cultural studies. I am now in my eleventh year at OTTO in the HR department. During this time, my path initially led me to recruitment, followed by a move to the training team, and now I'm back in recruitment. Here I support colleagues from the Retail & Marketplace division in filling vacant positions. I live just outside Hamburg with my husband and our two daughters.
OTTO is a family business with a long tradition that has managed to fundamentally change its business model on its way to becoming a platform. Employees can work independently in an atmosphere of friendship and trust.
I would always recommend that you go into an interview well prepared - that way no one puts their foot in their mouth. Take a good look at OTTO itself and the job posting. There is nothing more difficult than talking about yourself, but you should also take a look at your own personality beforehand. Where do you stand? Where do you want to go? What makes you special and what things keep getting in your way? Good self-reflection helps us to better understand you as a person.
That's relatively easy: With honesty and authenticity! It is important to me that we are open during the conversation so that we can make the best possible decision for both sides in the end.
