In the interview you can get to know Ann-Kathrin better. She is an HR manager in recruitment and manages the selection of new colleagues for our marketing departments.
Hi Ann-Kathrin, tell us a bit about yourself.
My interest in people runs through my private and professional life. That's why I chose HR early on and found my professional home here. I have been an HR Manager at Otto for many years. My journey has taken me through Otto Cultural Development, Otto Group Change Management and Otto Personnel Development. I have been working in Otto Recruiting since 2018, focusing on diagnostics in the selection of employees and managers. Among other things, I support and advise the Brand & Advertising, Customer & Campaigns and Content Management departments in their recruitment processes.

For me, Otto as an employer is characterized by a familiar working environment, trust and the ability to work independently and help shape things. Otto also allows me to combine my family and my career in an attractive part-time model.
Dos and don'ts: What do you recommend to applicants for an interview? What do you pay particular attention to?
I am happy when applicants are well prepared and show that they have looked into the advertised position and its challenges. It is also helpful to reflect on yourself in advance: What do you stand for? What drives you? What rough edges do you have? Authenticity and honesty are the basis of our conversation.
Insider tip: How can you be convincing in an interview?
I am won over by honest and authentic people who express their enthusiasm and motivation for the job and our company. In addition to good preparation, I find it important that previous experience and skills are meaningfully linked to the requirements of the advertised position during the interview.
