All OTTO networks at a glance
We introduce you to our networks Plan F, #experienced, Eltern@OTTO, antiRacism and MORE* - the LGBTIQ network
OTTO reaffirmed its commitment to diversity and inclusion by signing the Diversity Charter in 2011. Since 2019, we have also been one of 31 companies in Germany that is an active member of the "Diversity Charter" association and is committed to more diversity in the world of work. This makes us part of a nationwide initiative and the largest network for diversity management in Germany. To this end, employees at OTTO have come together in OTTO networks on the topic of diversity:
Väter@OTTO
The Väter@OTTO network stands for active fatherhood and partnership-based career development with the aim of improving the work-life balance. The network is open to fathers, mothers and interested parties from all Group companies, currently has 213 members and has been in existence since 2014. Network Lead: Nico Luethje.
FATHER NETWORK and Fathers@OTTO
OTTO is also a member of the nationwide FATHER NETWORK. The VÄTERNETZWERK project run by Väter GmbH supports male employees in balancing work and family life. With its membership, which includes lectures, workshops, webinars and father-child activities, OTTO gives all (expectant) fathers a platform for this important topic.
PARENTS@OTTO
The biggest concern of the Parents@OTTO initiative is to provide parents at OTTO with the best possible support in balancing family and career. We want to show that family commitments and professional development are not mutually exclusive and are convinced that the skills and experience that our colleagues develop in their role as parents also enrich us within the company.
PLAN F
PLAN F is the Otto Group's Fe*Male network and aims to overcome structural barriers to equal opportunities at all levels. The network has been in existence since 2016 and has 40 female and male active members from different Group companies, as well as 200 other supporters*. Network lead: Eva-Maria Schmeil.
nushu and PLAN F
At PLAN F, we are part of nushu, the largest cross-industry and cross-position network for women in the DACH region. Together with nushu as a female business platform, we are getting even closer to our goal for more parity and visibility in business. Thereby, targeted networking, best practice sharing and inspiration at eye level are on the agenda.
#experienced
Since 2018, the #experienced network has been driving this vision forward: appreciative collaboration between all generations. The members of #experienced shape life-phase-oriented working environments and age-fair cooperation at OTTO. With the core team and communities, there are over 300 people who actively support the topic of age diversity. Network lead: Dr. Leonie Koch.
ddn | The Demography Network e. V. and #EXPERIENCED
The demography network ddn focuses on aging. They ask how companies can adapt to aging workforces and how other companies deal with demographic change. In their network, they connect companies and institutions so that they can actively shape demographic change for over two million employees.
MORE*
MORE*, the queer network of the Otto Group, works with around 450 supporters* for the interests and visibility of LGBTIQ*. Since 2019, MORE* members have been contact persons* for employees and managers, advise departments, network with other companies - and promote the unprejudiced handling of sexual identity on the job. Network contact person: Ingo Bertram.
Prout at Work and MORE*
As an active member, OTTO supports the PROUT AT WORK Foundation. This foundation is committed to a non-discriminatory and open working environment in which diversity is valued and promoted. The commitment is to mutual understanding and equal opportunities for people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions in the workplace.
antiRacism
The network antiRacism, together with the trainee initiative InMigration, wants to make an active contribution against racist discrimination, support people with a migration background and promote empowerment. The 11 members are a contact point for colleagues and provide education on the topic of racism and integration. The Otto Group network has been in existence since 2021 and has around 135 supporters. Network Lead: Maureen John.
Representative body for severely disabled persons
The Representative Council for Severely Disabled Employees promotes the integration of severely disabled people, represents their interests and provides them with advice and assistance. At OTTO, these colleagues advise on questions relating to health impairments and disabilities, on applications for the determination of a disability, on equipping the workplace to meet the needs of the disabled, or on applications for benefits for participation.
