„Die Höhle der Löwen“: Produkte zeitgleich bei otto.de bestellbar

German TV audiences are feverishly anticipating the new series of the much-loved VOX entrepreneur show ‘Die Höhle der Löwen’ (equivalent show in Great Britain known as ‘The Dragon’s Den’). OTTO is working closely together with jurors Ralf Dümmel and Frank Thelen – and offering many of the new products showcased in the TV pitches at otto.de.

When it’s pitch time on prime-time TV, when start-up entrepreneurs and inventors take the wraps off their brilliant ideas, and the jurors go head-to-head to secure the best deals – that’s when Germany sits glued to the TV to watch the VOX show ‘Die Höhle der Löwen’. Ralf Dümmel also has a juror’s seat in the second series, and is offering the most exciting products and the most tempting deals. The CEO of Produkte GmbH in Stapelfeld near Hamburg has been a key partner on the OTTO platform for years, and will be offering several new products on ‘Löwen’ this year too. What’s more, OTTO will also be offering products in which the entrepreneur and jury member Frank Thelen has personally invested.

Right after the winning bid and while the show is still on air, customers will be able to find many new products immediately available at otto.de. “For us, ‘Die Höhle der Löwen’ is a great example of how we can offer young entrepreneurs and their innovative products a highreach platform at otto.de to help launch their commercial success”, says Dr Michael Heller, Member of the OTTO Management Board, Categories and Deputy Spokesman for the online retailer. “Our customers are also delighted when they can buy the products from the show via their smartphone – even during the show itself.”

OTTO successfully sold several products from the show in the past series too, and saw some exciting user statistics:

  • Second Screen Effect I: smartphone-based visits to otto.de rose during the broadcast by up to 200 per cent
  • Second Screen Effect II: on average, 40 per cent of page visits for der ‘Die Höhle der Löwen’ products take place during the broadcast itself
  • Searched, found and purchased: the ‘Towell+’ sports towel by Hamburg start-up Thinks topped the ‘DHDL’ favourites ranking at otto.de.

„Die Höhle der Löwen“ runs until 21 November - every week OTTO will be there live and offer the latest products on otto.de.
