Augmented Reality-App für yourhome.de

OTTO is now presenting its own Augmented Reality (AR) app, which was conceived in close collaboration with Google, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (26 February to 01 March 2018). As a result, OTTO is one of the few companies to avail itself of the ARCore technology at a very early stage. You can check out this application at the Google exhibition stand. The online furnishing retailer yourhome.de is expected to offer the ‘yourhomeAR’ app in the Android Playstore as of March. „yourhomeAR“ – App im Playstore für Android voraussichtlich im März.

Using this innovative shopping technology makes things so easy: just point your smartphone’s camera at the floor, select the furniture item from the app and place it in the room. Adjust the sizes, rotate – and enjoy! This way you can test how the item will look within your own four walls before actually purchasing it.

The app is based on Google’s ARCore and is initially compatible with 13 smartphones.

The AR app allows you to:

scan and view any room in real time without additional tools while you’re on the move
choose your favourites from a virtual 3D furniture set and position these easily and true-to-scale in the room
get an up-close and multi-perspective look at the furniture you positioned
order this furniture in the yourhome online shop (yourhome.de) quickly and conveniently

With its user-friendly interface and intuitive operability the AR app also conveys a realistic image of the materials, quality and looks of yourhome furniture and supports customers in deciding what to purchase.
